Mike Morgan is Oklahoma's NewsChannel 4's Chief Meteorologist. He joined the KFOR team in January of 1993.
A fourth generation Oklahoman, Mike grew up in the Tulsa area. His interest in meteorology was apparent at an early age. As a 13-year-old, Mike interned with the National Weather Service. He stepped into the working world at the age of 19, doing the weather at a Tulsa television station.
Mike is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Numerous regional and national awards chronicle his on-air coverage of severe weather. Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating presented the Humanitarian Award to Mike for going above and beyond the call of duty during the May 3rd tornadoes. In eight of the last nine years (the last seven in a row), he received the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters award for Best 10 p.m. weathercast in the state. Mike has also won a Radio Television News Directors' Association Award and has won two Emmy's and been nominated seven times.
