OKLAHOMA CITY -- The former chief investigator with the Oklahoma medical examiner's office will have to face a jury of his peers. Kevin Rowland is accused of sexual battery against a former male co-worker. During a preliminary hearing today, that employee testified how Rowland sent him several off-color sexual emails dating back to 2007.

State prosecutors also detailed how Rowland once grabbed that male coworker by the breast and made another off-color joke following a lunch meeting.

The defense called the case a joke but prosecutors aren't laughing.

"It's no different than me going around the office slapping guys on the butt and saying good job. I guess now in the state that's a felony and you have to register for the rest of your life. It's insane to me we're having to deal with this," said attorney Scott Adams.

"The state does not differentiate between male victims and female victims, nor should it," responded attorney general Drew Edmondson.

Rowland also faces four additional sexual battery charges in Tulsa County involving two female coworkers.
