OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma vehicles are among the worst when it comes to tire tread. According to a national study conducted by the Rubber Manufacturers Association, 12% of Oklahoma City vehicles had a least one bald tire. Data was collected on more than 7,000 vehicles in all major regions of the country and Oklahoma was slightly worse than the national average.
Safety experts believe the sluggish economy has forced many drivers to push their tires past the recommended limit.
But with holiday travel and winter weather on the horizon, officials say it is critical drivers get their tires inspected for wear & tear.
