"I wish it (calculator) would have came out when I bought it," Cliburn joked.
Brandon Hollingshad is driving a '97 Ford F-150. It's trade-in value is only $600, but through the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), he could get a $4,500 rebate that would give him a truck for just over $15,000.
"I'll trade that in, in a heartbeat," Hollingshad says.
Rob Stanley, Vice President of the David Stanley Auto Group, says the CARS program makes it possible for a consumer to buy a new Aveo that gets 30 miles to the gallon for less than $5,000.
"How do you say no? Finally, they're able to get something that can get them back and forth to work, or to pick up their kids safely and cost effectively," Stanley says.
The CARS program is scheduled to be finalized next week.
