The man doing the hitting had a gun, but didn't resist arrest once police arrived.
Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow with the Oklahoma City Police Department says, "He gave officers the name that night, of Adrian Diaz. That's the name that he was booked into the Oklahoma County jail under."
After Detention Officers took Diaz's fingerprints and entered them into a database, they got a notice from the FBI.
Mark Myers from the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department says, "Within just a few moments we got an alert from FBI saying that Diaz was actually an alias for a man they had been searching for several years."
That man is Carlos Medina. He's wanted for the murder of his estranged wife and attempted murder of her mother in Cleveland, Ohio back in 2002. He's also wanted for questioning in a murder in California.
Here in Oklahoma, he's facing assault and kidnapping charges. He's being held on $112,500 bond and immigration has placed a hold on him as well.
Wardlow says, "It's a great find, it's a great catch to be able to get somebody like this off of the streets."
Franklin says, "I'm glad he's off the street. I'm glad he's out of this neighborhood!"
