OKLAHOMA CITY -- Former Governor George Nigh is working with police after he was robbed at gunpoint late Wednesday. The former governor and his wife were unloading flowers from their car when an unknown man approached Nigh from behind and told him to "get on the ground." Governor Nigh says the man said to hand over his wallet and then the man disappeared into the darkness.

Thursday morning Oklahoma City Police were still on the scene searching for any evidence and getting additional information from the Nighs.

Governor Nigh says he does not believe this incident was in any way politically motivated or that he was targeted for any specific reason.

Nigh says, "He did not call me by name or title. I just presume it was random."

He's grateful nothing else was taken and that no physical harm was done.

Nigh says, "It was scary, but we're fine. We appreciate the concern."

Oklahoma City Police say the suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, about 6'2" tall.

He was last seen wearing a light-colored jumpsuit with a baseball cap.
