OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City man is behind bars tonight accused of killing his wife. 44-year-old David Hammond has been arrested on one county of first degree murder.

Tuesday evening Hammond called police to his home on S.W. 23rd and claimed two Hispanic males broke in and shot his wife in the chest.

The victim, Delola Hammond, died after being rushed to the hospital. The arrest of her husband comes as quite a shock to neighbors who never saw any signs of domestic trouble in the home.

"I can't imagine why someone would kill their spouse, but we don't know what was going on," said Margaret Smith.

"I don't know that I observed any stress outside the home nor inside. I never heard any type of problems," said Jimmy Been.

Police didn't say exactly what the motive may have been for the shooting.
