OKC Police search for man suspected in homicide
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Officers spent Sunday evening and night searching for a man accused of shooting and killing another man on the city's southwest side.

Investigators are not releasing any names yet, but say they found a black man in his 50's dead on the side of the street when they responded to a 911 call about shots fired. Someone apparently shot the man in the side.

The scene covered about a block near SW 3rd and Shartel.

The suspect is described as a white man with a salt and pepper beard and gray hair. he was last seen wearing a checkered shirt and carrying a gun.

Lt. Don Holland with the Oklahoma City police Department says, "We don't know the reason for this homicide right now, we know that there was an argument just before and then the shots were fired."

Nancy Walker was visiting her sister in the area and witnessed the fight.

She says, "We were just on our way to the store about 30 minutes before the shooting happened and we just saw them arguing on the sidewalk."

Neighbors say they are not surprised by the violence in the area. It's known for its homeless population and for prostitution.

Walker believes the victim was not a stranger in the area and says, "From what they say around here he's a pimp, so I'm not sure if they were arguing about the girl or what."
