Cara & Allen Baxter just rescued 140 dogs they found living in filth.
They run the Tri-County Humane Society based out of their Tecumseh home and quickly took the dogs into their care.
Cara Baxter said, "Feces everywhere, dogs are dirty, stinky, just nasty all around."
News Channel 4 went back to Pottawatomie County where we're happy to report many are donating their precious time to help out with the pack.
Melissa Blevins said, "Oh, you wanna' go home with me? Let's get you cleaned up."
A natural reaction for Melissa Blevins after seeing these neglected dogs; she's been grooming pets for 40 years in Norman & jumped at the chance to help when she saw our story.
She and others were in disbelief when they saw the rows and rows of dirty pins with flea-ridden dogs.
She and many others were there adopting dogs, bringing dog food and supplies and donating their precious time for the pack, a relief for the Baxters and their new overwhelming project.
Allen Baxter said, "Oh, it's wonderful. I didn't know anyone would volunteer their services. Told my wife last night, we got ourselves in a mess we ain't gettin' out of."
