BETHEL ACRES, OK -- More than a hundred dogs found in dire condition after a puppy mill owner has neglected them for years. While their neglect and number is overwhelming, their rescue is in the works. It's an overgrown, understaffed puppy mill in Pottawatomie County that's caught the attention of dog lovers disgusted by what they found.

Cara Baxter of the Tri-County Human Society said, "The cages are filthy, doesn't look like they've been cleaned and the smell is horrific."

Cara Baxter and her husband run the Tri-County Humane Society based out of their Tecumseh home and said a neighbor of the puppy mill called them desperate for help.

The neighbor told Cara the owner couldn't take car of the mill her husband used to run before he died. She said they were spending $1200 a week on dog food for 140 dogs.

No charges are being filed against the mill owner because she is willingly surrendering the dogs.

But the rescuers said they need groomers, cages & most of all someone to love them.
