OKLAHOMA CITY -- The search is on for two men wanted for a violent crime. The terrifying ordeal began at Southwest 59th and Western. That's where police say the suspects forced a 36-year-old woman into her car. The attackers then drove the taped-up woman to a remote area near Purcell and raped her. Eventually the suspects drove the victim back to Oklahoma City and let her go. Surprisingly, the two attackers then got out of the car.
The victim got behind the wheel and tried to run the men over, but instead crashed into the carport of a nearby home.
The victim then drove to a nearby gas station and called police.
Authorities were able to develop two sketches of the wanted men.
While the victim had been drinking the night of the assault, police say her story is credible.
"She reported the crime as it happened. Our officers looked for consistencies in her story, which we believe there was. Obviously there are two dangerous men we want to get off the streets so they can't victimize someone else like this," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
At one point, while in Purcell, the victim reported seeing an older red Jeep Cherokee drive by the scene.
Police hope to talk to that person to see if they have any information that can help solve the case.
Aside from being sexually assaulted, the victim did not suffer any other serious injuries.
