OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City police officer is at the center of an investigation after he was involved in a deadly collision along Southwest 29th and Indiana early Thursday morning. Officials say the officer was responding to a near-by larceny call and was headed eastbound on 29th street when the driver of a white car pulled out into the intersection.

Although emergency responders were quickly on scene, they couldn't save the life of the motorist.

The officer, who did not have his emergency lights on while responding to the call, only suffered minor injuries.

According to Oklahoma City police, officers do not turn on their lights while responding to a larceny call, but do have to obey all traffic laws.

"The main thing we'll try and do is reconstruct what happened and why it happened. Why did the car pull out into the path of the police officer? What was the police officer doing? What was the other driver doing," said MSgt. Gary Knight.
