OKLAHOMA CITY -- A fatality accident has shut I-35 Southbound down. The accident happened around 6:30 Wednesday morning. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say a semi-truck was driving north on I-35 when the driver clipped a guardrail and lost control, crossing over the median, through another guardrail and into on-coming traffic. Troopers believe the semi rolled over a Ford Ranger and then hit a car.
Another vehicle, driven by Edward Woodward, tried to avoid the accident but ended up hitting the trailer.
Woodward says he saw the semi coming across the median and simply could not avoid it.
Fortunately, Wooward walked away uninjured.
However, one person did die at the scene.
The driver of the semi and another driver were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers have not released the name of the person who died at the scene.
Troopers diverted traffic from I-35 onto Westbound I-44.
