SEMINOLE, OK - Officials with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics are investigating employees at a Seminole-based ambulance service after Morphine and Demerol were allegedly stolen from their office. According to City Manager Steve Saxon, over 20 people work at Medicus but only one person is supposed to have access to the drugs.

Along with talking to their employees, city officials are re-thinking their security measures and hope local residents still trust them.

"It becomes a black eye for Medicus, our ambulance service, and that's not fare because everyday we are saving lives out there and those people work hard to gain a good reputation," Saxon said.

Investigators with the OBN say both Morphine and Demerol are powerful pain killers and can be resold for top dollar.

No arrests have been made and investigators are not releasing the names of any suspects.

"If it's not someone feeding their own addiction and if it's somebody simply selling it, we see prescription medication that's going for hundreds of dollars," said Mark Woodward with OBN.

Woodward said they are not sure if it was an inside job or not.

"Were they stolen by somebody in the inside who was staging a break in (or) were they stolen by a burglar?"
