OKLAHOMA CITY -- Tesla Motors is one of the most unique car companies in the entire world; they have a high-profile car that is the envy of sports car enthusiasts of all nationalities. They brought the Roadster to Oklahoma as part of their "Electric Summer" tour. The Roadster is the only highway full-electric vehicle out there and the cars caught the attention of people like Cole Frates as they were being unloaded in Oklahoma City.

Frates says, "It's fantastic. I mean, you see this kind of thing in Los Angeles all the time or New York. They are just great looking cars."

The cars plug in at home and can take less than four hours to charge.

They have more than 200 miles of range and these babies can burn rubber.

Ross Rubman works for Tesla and says, "This car right here can go 0 to 60 (MPH) in 3.7 seconds."

That speed comes with a pretty little price tag, around $109,000.

Rubman says, "Our customer base actually spans across the environmental crowd, the tech crowd and then just sports car enthusiasts as well."

They're here in Oklahoma mostly because of our electric vehicle tax credit; it's the largest incentive in the country.

Buyers can be eligible for a 50 percent credit on state income taxes.

Rubman says, "We actually have a good customer base in Oklahoma and this is just expanding it further."

That tax incentive stops at the end of June.

Money isn't the only reason Oklahomans are intrigued; no matter the paint job, the car is green, environmentally friendly with zero emissions.

If you miss out on purchasing the Roadster, don't worry.

The company has a more affordable sedan coming out in two years.
