DEL CITY, OK -- A Del City woman died during a home invasion Wednesday morning. Teresa Coleman lived with her mother, sister, and son. Two men forced their way into the home by kicking in the door shortly after Teresa's sister left for work around 5:30 in the morning.

Captain Jody Suit from the Del City Police Department says, "The suspects possibly saw her leave and then went to commit the burglary. It's always possible they didn't know anyone else was home. But when they were confronted, that's when shots were fired." Teresa's mother was home at the time of the murder. Officers say she was traumatized, but will not say how much she saw.

Neighbors describe Teresa and her family as extremely nice people. Joe Pennington lives across the street and was in shock over the death saying, "What in the world kind of stuff is worth a human life? I'm sorry but I can't comprehend people who do things like this."

The family issued a statement saying, "She was a fun loving woman who was very outgoing and always loved to laugh. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend that everyone loved. She would give you the shirt off her back to help you out. She will be missed and the family is taking it hard. We need the community's help to catch the ones responsible for this horrible crime."

Officers are still searching for the suspects described as two black men, in their early twenties. They have a slender build and are between 5' 7" and 5' 9". One of the men had a goatee, and one was wearing a red bandana. If you have any information about this crime, please contact the Del City Police Department.
