Toddler nearly drowns at Oklahoma City pool party
OKLAHOMA CITY - A birthday party goes terribly wrong after a toddler wandered away and fell into a swimming pool. It happened Saturday evening near Hefner and Air Depot Roads. The two year old boy's parents found him in their backyard pool. The toddler was wearing a lifejacket during the get-together, but took it off after swimming. Everyone had gone inside, and the party was just wrapping up when someone noticed he was missing. That's when authorities say the boy's parents went outside looking for him and made the discovery.

"They were having a pool party. He had a life vest on. The party was pretty much over, and the vest came off. They were doing their family thing, and when they go to look for the child they find him in the pool," Lt. Daniel Stewart said.

Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the boy. He was transported to a metro hospital where he's in ICU.
