OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma state troopers are defending one of their own. Trooper Daniel Martin had been accused of using excessive force twice in the last few months. Martin received a five-day suspension after video showed him getting into an altercation with a paramedic in May.

Then in October a Holdenville man accused trooper Martin and trooper Tommy Allen of using excessive force following a traffic stop.

Newly released video shows Martin using one strike to the accuser's leg to get control of the man who would have left the scene.

Martin won't be punished for his actions in that incident.

"It was a textbook use of force. One strike to the leg and the force stopped after that point," said Lt. Tim Tipton.

Both troopers have now been put back on regular duty.

Both had been on paid leave while the case was investigated.
