Firefighters discovered the bodies of three women and one man early Monday inside the burning home on the city's southwest side. The identities of the victims have not been released.
Police Sgt. Gary Knight says investigators believe another man was at the home when the fire started and they are searching for him.
Knight says the medical examiner's office has not yet determined how the four people died.
Melvin Watkins, whose family owns the home, says he rented it about three months ago to 31-year-old Jose Fernando Fierro, but Knight says Fierro was not one of the victims.
Knight would not confirm whether Fierro is the person being sought by police.
